Enjoying The Mobile Room

What's included in the hire cost?

Our Airstream will be fully kitted out with wi-fi, an inbuilt TV monitor, an Alpine stereo system and air-conditioning, so you’ll be comfortable and connected even in remote locations.

We’ve also installed a Nespresso™ coffee machine and coffee pods, teabags, water, milk, sugar for a hot drink, or a fridge packed with water and orange juice for sunnier days.

You’ll need to bring your own food or caterers if you’re going to want meals to keep you going, while you’re with us.

What do I need to provide?

We’ve installed a small fridge but no facilities for washing up or cooking. So if it’s a stay which requires meals and you want to eat in the Airstream, you’ll need your own food or caterers or you can ask us to help you find suitable arrangements.

We’ll provide cups and glasses but again, if eating you’ll need to bring (or have brought) crockery and cutlery.

The Mobile Room’s a place for sitting or standing, not for sleeping. So if it’s the focal point of an away day or a weekend, we’d suggest making it part of a stay at accommodation of some kind, or bringing your own sleeping option.

Are animals allowed inside?

Sorry, we don’t allow any animals inside our Airstream – except for assistance dogs, of course.

Can I use candles/tealights?

No naked flames are allowed inside the Airstream. You can use battery powered or mains fairy lights to create a romantic atmosphere – don’t forget we have our own coloured sparkly twinkle lights inside and out.

Can I charge my phone, camera or tablet?

There are plenty of plugs inside the Airstream and USB charging points conveniently situated in the table for your gadgets.

Do you need electric?

We can provide electricity for you but yes, it is necessary. We can either connect to a mains supply or for remote locations we have our own generator – don’t worry, it’s small and very quiet so won’t cause any disruption.

 

How many people are allowed?

Our Airstream is 25ft long and 8ft wide and can comfortably seat 12 people around the table with a maximum of 15.

Do you provide for guests with accessibility needs?

Unfortunately our Airstream does not have wheelchair accessibility.

Is the Airstream secure?

The Airstream has a lockable door and all windows have locks. However, we recommend leaving nothing of value inside or visible in or around the Airstream, as we can’t be held responsible for thefts.

 

Are there any toilet facilities on board the Airstream?

We’re sorry but there isn’t a toilet located in the Airstream.

How to pay

What do we pay and when?

We ask for a £500 fully refundable deposit when you make your booking. We’ll then send you an invoice for the full payment  6 weeks before the date of your hire.

 

What is a damage deposit/damage waiver?

It’s very rare for our Airstream to be damaged, but accidents do happen and damage can occur. Se we ask for a damage deposit, often called a damage waiver, which is a refundable deposit you pay in case you damage the Airstream or any of the equipment in it.

Please do read your booking terms and conditions properly because it is a legally binding contract. We appreciate they are long and not wildly exciting, but they have been written in line with current legislation and are in a format that is easy to read and understand.

If you follow the Terms and Conditions, that tell you what to do and what not to do, your damage waiver deposit will be refunded in full.

When will I get my damage deposit/waiver back?

Typically, your damage deposit is returned within 7 days of us collecting the Airstream.

If the Airstream or any equipment is found to be damaged on collection, we will email you immediately and liaise with you from there. This is done by email because it’s important to have a written record.

What payments do you accept?

We accept cheque and bank transfer payments.

If paying by cheque please make it payable to ‘The Mobile Room Limited’ and write your name, address and booking reference clearly on the back.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation notice must be given in writing and refunds will be paid according to the proximity to the rental date that the written cancellation request is received, where the following terms will apply:

  • 4-6 weeks of the scheduled commencement date of the rental, 80% refund will be paid.
  • 2-4 weeks of the scheduled commencement date, 50% refund will be paid.
  • Up to 2 weeks from the scheduled commencement date of the rental, 20% refund will be paid.

 

Can I make changes to my booking?

Delivery & Location

Do you deliver The Mobile Room?

Part of our service is that we deliver the Airstream and pick it up afterwards, so you have no need to worry about the right vehicle to tow it with. We have a Ford Ranger which is perfect for the job, so no need to stress… just book us and use us, we’ll do the rest.

What areas do you cover?

Our Airstream hire service covers the whole of the UK.

We’re based in Gloucestershire, so within a 30-mile radius of the GL3 postcode we’ll deliver the Airstream for free. Anywhere outside of this location and we’ll charge an additional £2 per mile.

Long distance bookings are subject to a minimum number of hire days and there will be a delivery charge. Call us to find out more on 1452 223 679.

What sort of ground do you need for the Airstream pitch?

Airstreams like to be level! Ideally we’d need to be pitched either on tarmac or gravel. It is possible to set up on grass or bare earth, but we would need to check the site first.

 

How much space does an Airstream need?

Our Airstream is 25ft long and 8ft wide, so we need space to manoeuvre her around safely.

If in doubt, and you’re not sure you have enough space we can check the site first to approve the location.
